William Goins, Sr.

William Loran Goins, Sr., 75, of Crestwood, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2022.  He was born on November 19, 1946, to the late Grover Ray and Joanna June (Holderby) Goins, in Huntington, West Virginia.

William is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Paula Goins; his sons, William L. Goins, Jr. (Tina) and James G. Goins (Shana); along with his wonderful grandchildren, Christopher, Amanda, Samantha, Sydney, Graylin and Aubrey.

He grew up on Edgin Avenue in Shively and graduated from Butler High School in 1965.  William served his country proudly for four years in the Airforce and discharged as a Staff Sargent.  He worked for UPS, BF Goodrich, Firestone and Louisville Scrap. For the last 26 years he owned his own business, Goins Automotive. William and Paula moved to Oldham County 32 years ago to have a small farm for their 2 horses.  He loved dogs and found a love for cats after rescuing one that he felt sorry for.  He could play the guitar and enjoyed playing and writing music.  Golf was his favorite past time and he enjoyed playing golf video games as well online with friends from all over the world.  He loved his family immensely and has an infectious sense of humor.  Most of all he loved his wife, kids, and grandkids fiercely and he will be greatly missed.

Funeral Services for William will be at 1PM on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Homes East, 11601 Ballardsville Road, with Larry Petty officiating.  Friends may call upon the family Saturday from 10AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
