Warren Douglas Maggard

Warren Douglas Maggard, 77, of Crestwood, Kentucky, passed away on January 11, 2024. He was born on January 4, 1947 Benham, Ky. Warren was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.
Warren was a family man who wore his heart on his shoulder. He found joy in being surrounded by his children and grandchildren. As a teacher for over 30 years, Warren inspired countless students to pursue their dreams in the medical field through his teachings in anatomy, physiology and biology. He was also a skilled woodworker and took pleasure in creating unique and personalized gifts and ornaments for his grandchildren. Warren was a loving husband who never forgot to get his wife flowers especially on Valentine's Day. He was a worrier and a constant source of encouragement for his children, always making sure they were okay. Warren had a gift for conversation and could engage anyone in discussions about a wide range of topics. He had a goofy sense of humor that could light up a room. We always knew he was around when we heard his whistle. His kindness, love, and humor will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Warren is survived by his wife, Lorraine Maggard, his children Robin (Kevin) Davis, Brent (Jessy) Maggard, and Ashley (Patrick) Ashley, and his grandchildren Taylor, Hannah, Nathan, Natalie, Spencer, Harlan, and Eirene. He is also survived by his brother Everett (Shelia) Maggard, niece Heather (Matt) Receveur, and great-nephews Kode and Dustin Receveur. Warren was preceded in death by his father Otis Maggard and mother Okra Maggard.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Louisville Memorial Gardens East. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 PM. The funeral home assisting with the arrangements is Louisville Memorial Gardens East.
