Kathleen Elaine Huffman, beloved wife of Archie Huffman, passed away at the age of 68 on March 20, 2024, peacefully at home surrounded by her family.
Born on April 18, 1955, in Detroit, Michigan, Kathy was the daughter of the late Ruth Lee Foster Smith and Robert Lee Cheatham. Kathy met the love of her life in 1973 in Georgia at age 19. By sheer coincidence, they walked through the same door in perfect unison, setting the trajectory for their lives together. Her life’s journey embodied the virtues of unconditional love, strength of spirit, and boundless generosity, which shone through her unwavering care for her husband, son, daughter-in-law, sisters, entire family, and countless others. Kathy's cheerful attitude and bright smile were contagious to everyone she met.
Kathy will be lovingly remembered by her husband of fifty years and her son, Kevin Henry (Katasha) Huffman of Louisville. She is also survived by her sisters, Wanda Prudhomme and Sheila Gillis, both of Warner Robins, Georgia, along with numerous other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Theresa (Wayne) Wright and Robert (Bobby) Cheatham, both of Warner Robins, Georgia.
Visitation will be held from Friday, March 22, 2024, at Louisville Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, located at 11601 Ballardsville Rd, Louisville, KY, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, March 23, 2024 with a funeral service to follow immediately thereafter, in the chapel at the same location.
