Jean Marie Kuchenbrod Jackson

Jean Marie Kuchenbrod Jackson, age 97, died peacefully at home on Thursday, June 29, 2023. Born in Louisville as the only child of Samuel Edward Stelzig and Irene Linney Carpenter, she was of the greatest generation, having lived through the most challenging and life changing events of the past century. Raised with strong faith, she attended Catholic schools and graduated from Our Lady of Mercy, now called Mercy Academy. Married at age 22 to Charles J Kuchenbrod, she viewed her finest role in life as a wife and mother. Our mother assisted our dad in his motorcycle business later in life and worked selling Studio Girl Cosmetics and Tupperware to provide us with the extras as we grew up.

Her favorite passions were family gatherings, cooking great meals, gardening, and her lifelong care of cats, dogs, chickens, and canaries. She also was a caregiver of people and a volunteer at the Marion Home, Recovery of Kentucky, and Senior Citizens East. She loved ballroom dancing, playing cards and especially the game, Scrabble. We remember her laughter and her great sense of humor.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Charles J. Kuchenbrod, Sr.

She is survived by her five children, Charles Jr., Bruce, Kathy Vincent (James), Darlene Allen (Keith), and Laura Litkea. Also survived by eight grandchildren, Brett, Mark, Daisy, Alysia, Ross, Travis, Rachel, and Jimmy, along with six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 7th, 2023, at Louisville Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home East, located at 11601 Ballardsville Road, Louisville KY. Visitation in the chapel is from 11 am to 1:30 pm with services and burial to follow.
