Barbara Overman

Barbara Kay Overman, 83, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on October 11, 2022.  She was born on July 17, 1939, to the late Elmer and Ruth (Langdon) Eaton in Crawford County, Indiana.

Barbara was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Raymond C. Overman; her daughter, Melanie Rae Overman; her sister, Karen DeVault (Phil); and her stepson, Chuck Overman.

Left to cherish the memories of Barbara’s life are her children, Michael “Eric” Overman and Jennifer Overman; her granddaughter, Lauren Overman; her stepchildren, Cindy, Lynn, Bobbie Jean, and Danny; her sister, Lillian Lane (Jim); her brother, Elmer Eaton, Jr. (Lois); along with a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Barbara was a Christian and a long time, active and involved member of Northeast Christian Church.  She was a wonderful cook, always making her meals from scratch, and prided herself on always making a Sunday dinner for her family.  Barbara enjoyed making quilts, crocheting and sewing.  She was always well dressed, even to just run errands.  She was an example of grace.  Barbara loved to travel and enjoyed making memories with her husband during the wonderful 54 years they were blessed to have together.  She was always family oriented and extremely proud of her children and granddaughter.  She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

The whole family would like to extend their gratitude to both of her caregivers, Jennifer K. and Lovetee for their loving care, Barbara loves you both so much.

Funeral services for Barbara will be held at 1PM on Monday, October 17, 2022, at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home East, 11601 Ballardsville Road, with Pastor Bob Cherry officiating.  Entombment will follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens Cemetery East.  Friends may call on the family on Monday from 11AM until time of service at the funeral home.
