Glen Yager

Glen Clifford Yager, life-long resident of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on June 9, 2021 at the age of 95. He had been a resident of Glen Ridge Health Center. Glen is survived by his daughters, Kathleen Yager-Rosenbarger (Spouse, Darrell Rosenbarger, deceased) and Eileen Yager Johnson (spouse, Kim Johnson). He is predeceased by his wife, Mary Margaret Stacy of sixty years and his parents, Guy and Ruth Yager, and brother Malcom Yager.  He is also survived by his grandchildren Jared, Joshua, Sarah, Kayla, Tyler (spouse Brittany), and Tanner (spouse Randi) Johnson. Twelve great-grandchildren blessed his life in later years.
Glen was born on April 10, 1926 to Guy and Ruth Yager in Flint Michigan. He entered the Army Air Corp during WWII, serving in the Philippines. Upon exiting the service, he completed technical school in Louisville, Kentucky where he met and married Mary Margaret Stacy, a teacher and fellow musician on October 8, 1950. They welcomed their two daughters on July 18, 1953 and May 2, 1956. Glen provided well for his family working for the L&N Railroad until his retirement. Glen was a devoted father, husband, and avid musician. His musical career spanned 90 years, including church organist and pianist, choir member, Jewish Community Center Orchestra, Shrine Band, and the Mellotones, in addition to thousands of musical events, too many to mention, such as weddings, funerals and care home performances.
A deeply spiritual man, Glen served his church, Community of Christ, in quiet and humble ways. Those who spent time with him knew him to have a quick-witted joke always at the ready and to speak with eloquence when it mattered. He knew his Lord and was ready to meet Him when called home.
He will be deeply missed by his friends and family who loved him dearly and looked to him for wisdom and advice.  A special thanks to those who cared for him with love and tenderness at Glen Ridge Health Center. The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Forest Hills Community of Christ Church, 2401 Merriwood Dr. 40299, with visitation from 11-2 and memorial service to follow from 2-4 PM.  Nephew, Seventy Mike Stacy will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made by check in his memory to the Community of Christ Church Glenwood Hills Campgrounds, Derby, Indiana c/o Barbara Weathers 985 Youngs Creeks Rd.
