Manuel H. Anderson, 83, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 9, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on May 27, 1941, in Louisville, Kentucky, Manuel was the son of the late Cecil and Frances Anderson. He was a devoted husband, father, papaw, and brother whose quiet strength and unwavering love left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Left to cherish his memory, Manuel is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Alice Anderson; three children, Stephanie Dutton, Matt Anderson (Patty), and Steven Anderson (Salena); five grandchildren, Cross, Megan, Peter, Issac, and Edith; one brother, John Anderson; and a host of extended family and close friends.
Manuel spent over 30 years working at Naval Ordnance in Louisville, where his dedication and hard work earned him the respect of his colleagues. After retiring, he found joy in selling appliances for Chenoweth Appliances, where his kind, patient demeanor continued to make an impact.
A man of few words, Manuel was a reserved soul, but his passions spoke volumes. He had a deep love for Corvettes, and as a proud member of the River Cities Corvette Club, he enjoyed sharing that enthusiasm with others. He was also a faithful member of Westport Road Baptist Church, where his faith and love for the Lord were at the center of his life. He truly cherished his church family and friends, and his acts of kindness and willingness to help others will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Outside of work and church, Manuel enjoyed traveling, particularly to St. Martin, where he could relax and enjoy the beauty of the island. He also loved boating and spent many hours on the water, finding peace in the open air. A fan of NASCAR, Manuel was often found cheering on his favorite drivers.
Manuel's greatest joy was his family. He was a beloved husband to his wife, a devoted father to his children, and a proud papaw to his grandchildren. He was always there with a helping hand, a listening ear, and a loving heart. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the honor of knowing him. His memory will live on in the countless lives he touched.
Manuel’s legacy of love, kindness, and dedication will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
The family would like to extend their deepest thank you to all the nurses and doctors who helped care for Manuel during his battle with cancer.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2024, from 3 PM to 8 PM, and prior to the funeral service from 10 AM to 11 AM at Westport Road Baptist Church, 9705 Westport Road, Louisville, Kentucky.
